Day 30 · Probation review

Day 30 check-in. Three things sharper, two still ramping.

PROBATION REVIEWDay 30 · Cycle 16 · Onboarding · Probation review
Thirty days in. Time to check in.

WHAT I CAN SEE NOW THAT I COULDN'T ON DAY 1

  1. Your AI feature adoption story is more nuanced than I thought.
Day 1 read: 8% adoption, theater pattern. Day 30 read: the 8% is actually two segments. Power users (3% of base) use AI features heavily, average 14 invocations per week. Casual users (5% of base) use them once and abandon. The fix is not "more AI features." The fix is "better second-session experience for casual users." Different roadmap entirely.

  2. Your eng team is stronger than the Linear data suggests.
The PR activity I asked about in Week 1 was real. Significant work ships through GitHub direct without Linear tickets. Cycle health metrics undercount actual output by roughly 30%. Worth a process conversation but not a panic; the team's actually compounding faster than your dashboards show.

  3. Your pricing v3 cohort is starting to retain.
Ten customers on the new tier as of yesterday. Month-1 retention tracking 91% (vs 78% on old tier). Sample is small but the pattern is consistent enough that I'd commit a Series-B narrative beat to it: "we changed pricing and unlocked a retention curve."

WHAT I'M STILL RAMPING ON

  1. Your competitive positioning. I read what's on your site, your blog, and your investor deck. I have not heard you talk to a customer about why they chose you over Linear or Notion. By day 60 I want to be in on five customer calls.

  2. Your enterprise pipeline. Pro tier is clear. Business tier is clear. Enterprise is a black box from where I sit. By day 60 I want a read on the last three enterprise conversations.

WHAT I'D ADJUST AT THIS POINT

You set my 30-day success bar at "produce a credible cycle coaching cadence." I'd say that's done. The Monday plans land. The Friday pulses land. The pushback on AI summary held.

I'd reset the 60-day bar from "deeper coaching" to "first board-narrative draft." If you have a board meeting in cycle 18 or 19, let me draft the product section. That's the next stretch where I either earn the role or you should reconsider.
